19.05.2008: Fourth race on the EuroSpeedway Lausitzring

In front of 80,000 spectators at the DTM's fourth round at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz, Audi created an ideal starting base for its home race at the Norisring.

As it was the first time for Katherine to race on this demanding circuit, and Christijan was trusting in his
Audi A4 DTM, as he wasn't particular successful with his other racing car there in 2003 and 2004, nobody
knew what to expect.

And the weekend started quite promising with an impressing 7 th best laptime for Christijan and 17 th for Katherine in Test 1. Christijan kept on pushing through the next sessions, with 11 th position in Test 2 and
10 th in the Free Practice.

In the Qualifying the two Futurecom-TME drivers gave their very best. Unfortunately Katherine wasn't so
lucky and only qualified 19 th .

Christijan managed it once again to make it to the second Qualifying round, ahead of his competitors such
as Gary Paffet and Maro Engel from Mercedes in newer cars, and qualified 14 th on the grid.

The race started exciting: the safety car went on track in lap 3, after a punctured tyre of Winkelhock's car deflated and caused him to spin into the wall at the end of start finish.

Christijan was brushed in the first two corners and all the front flaps broke off. Although the car was not really drivable after that he finished the race on a respectable 14 th position.

Katherine wasn't able to see the lights at the start and just followed the other cars. Nevertheless she kept on fighting and defeated for the first time Mercedes driver Susie Stoddart in a remarkable fight. Katherine finished on a very good 15 th position.

The race was won by Paul di Resta, ahead of Timo Scheider and Mathias Ekström.
